we’ve done so many music genres these past few articles, now we have finally arrived to one of my favorite music genres disco. Now most people ask me why a 16-year old likes disco, well… I really enjoy how artists got to express themselves in very unique ways( And don’t get me started on the outfits lol)

Disco music evolved from the origins in Philadelphia’s R&B in the late late 60's/early 70’s, Disco music mostly featured African Americans and Latino musicians, (Did you know that while performances were going on secret parties were going on underground hosted by people in the LGBTQ?).

Artists like Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor, and Michel Jackson are in the top 25 most famous Disco artists of all time (lets get to know them a bit more shall we?)

Gloria Gaynor

1. Gloria Gaynor is best known for her hit singles “ I will Survive”, and “ Never say goodbye”.

2. She was born on September 7th 1943, she is 77 years old today.

3. She grew up in Newark, New Jersey where she was introduced to different genres of music Gloria then discovered she wanted to be a singer when she was just a little girl.

Diana Ross
  1. She’s never won a Grammy Award, despite a dozen nominations.
  2. Ross performed in the halftime show at the 1996 Super Bowl.
  3. Diana Ross was born March 26th 1944
Michael Jackson
  1. Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958.
  2. Jackson was presented with a humanitarian award by former President Ronald Reagan.
  3. The first song that Jackson ever crooned for the public was “Climb Every Mountain,” performed at the young age of five.
